What's new at the Roman Baths?

The Roman Baths and Temple complex at Aquae Sulis was one of the wonders of Roman Britain.

This unique site is hidden under the streets of central Bath and needs exceptional visitor interpretation to do justice to this unique part of our heritage.

It is also a significant challenge to make it physically and intellectually accessible to a wide range of visitors.

The site and site museum have been open to the public since 1897; now is the time to conserve the monument using the best of modern conservation methods, to protect it for future generations.

We have therefore invested £5.5 million over a 5 year period, to transform the accessibility of the Roman Baths and to maintain its position as a top UK visitor attraction.

We have created an unforgettable experience for all of our existing daytime and evening audiences and made the Roman Baths accessible and fascinating for new audiences.
